Girl chewing gum by John Smith
The concept of girl chewing gum, is as simple as it actually is. The video involves a voice over which then pre empts the events occuring during the experimental video, which the voice therefore co-ordinates to the images, cars, people and moving objects within the screen playing, but also on the focus and movements in which the camera makes on the street being viewed. In reality the use of voice over draws your attention too and make you establish whats going on weather is judging, dauting or even making a fantasy scene from what the world is actually producing. Is this experimental video the voice over isnt only looking at you but ordering you around the scene giving the viewer orthority to also look at the street. The way that the voice over is speaking is in such a magical but real experience shot in black and white on a grey dingy Hackney day. But also how the viewer is pulled into beliveing what was said through the power of language.
2. The use of technology and techniques and styles
Many unlike videos have different techniques and styles this is due to the concept of the video in itself for final production and the point the artist is trying to give across. Techniques and styles may be completely different even in similar films due to the time and money used in creating them or even the century they were produced. For example girl chewing gum, is a very low budget experimental video, this isn’t because of the time it was produced but due to only using a video camera and voice over to create the product. On the other hand Doll face by Andy Huang was a very high budget experimental video due to all the computer animations and time put into the making of the extremely high Tec animation. The different styles of video also play an important part in the technology used and different uses of video due to new technology in that era. The technology and money shouldn't therefore affect the concept that the artist is giving across, even though the concept can be exaggerated and made clearer through the technology and styles used, for example in Doll face by Andy Huang the point made that the audience are becoming robot like was shown through the animation, as the face happened to be controlled by a robots body.

5. How these works might inspire your own work
Much of the work that I have seen and listened to has greatly inspired me for my own experimental video. My experimental video is on the concept of fate, that everything is suppose to happen for a reason. When in reality I believe that things happen as you make them happen so my experimental video is exactly that, many things happen which are considered bad luck for example, walking on the cracks in the pavement, crossing on the stairs, walking over three drains and walking under a ladder however, at the very end of the video something really significant happens, they happened to win the lottery meaning that all the bad luck signs which happened previous had just been a flux to make you believe something bad was about to happen. doll face my Andy Huang really influenced me, just because my thoughts on his video where that people make themselves be controlled by the media for following it in the first place and adapting themselves slightly to be like media intended.

The use of exhibition space to create meaning
The use of exhibition space to create meaning, the use of exhibition space when creating meaning is very important due to the atmosphere the art exoduses' whether its a quite and relaxed concept or a hyped up and enthusiastic concept, changes dramatically to the people and environment where the artwork is situated, for example Robert Therriens' Table and four chairs sets the perfect example of how exhibition space creates meaning, I noticed that when in the gallery, the audience seemed very relaxed and intrigued by that particularly piece of art work. Many variables can be seen that act upon the context/concept the art is viewed in, and the statement that the art exodus for example:
- size of the room
- colour of the room
- amount of noise and distractions within the
- number of other people in the room
- amount of other pieces of art in the room
In the gallery art will be protected and covered which gives the impression that its worth a lot and that it is extremely important on the other hand if a piece of art work was exhibited on the street the art wouldn't be as appreciated if situated in a gallery where art is appreciated and treasured.

Audience, and audience interpretation of the work
Audience and audience interpretation of work. When an interpretation is made other peoples opinions and interpretations play an import part on every ones individual concept. Whether the other persons understanding of the work may be completely opposite there reading plays an influential part in every ones explanation. Therefore if a group of people have different reactions and emotions to that particular piece of work, that is exactly what the artist wanted. In an experimental video it is crucial to have different opinions and views for example, Muto by BLU, many people have different comments and reactions about this experimental video whether you believe that that concept means re-birth or evolution, your reaction to the video is completely your own interpretation and view. It is important that we all have our own interpretation and do not just agree with another persons interpretation in the case of Doll face by Andy huang some people may say that the experimental video is about how women are forced and controlled to look and change to the impossible images on TV, but other peoples interpretation may be a whole interpretation of how people are just generally influenced by what they watch on TV.
